Planar Noncontact Manipulation Using Magnetic Levitation

This diploma thesis deals with problems of position control of permanent magnet which is exposed to magnetic field generated by a group of electromagnets. This is a summary of theoretical knowledge of objects in magnetic fields and their movement control, including simulation software developed in Matlab. Part of this thesis is dedicated to a description of development, kit construction and experiments, which led to possible analysis of both free magnetic levitation and levitation with limited degrees of freedom. Mathematical models of chosen magnetic fields are also included.
