Electronic Line-of-Sight Stabilization for an Airborne Camera System

The aim of my work was to design and realize complete electronic equipement for controling the line-of-sight stabilized camera platform for unmanned airplane. Designed electronics consist of microprocessor-controlled systems for both controlled axes with linear regulators. Electronic design includes processing of electronic gyroscopes and IRC sensors in combination with power-driving of both motors in elevation and azimutal axes. Communication between all subsystems and with operator is based on CAN bus. Stabilized platform can keep tracking of chosen target with the camera system and inhibits outer deviations of solid frame firmly connected with the airplane. The goal is to have motionless image of the target scene.
