Experimental Flying Engine - Basic Control

This master thesis deals with the construction of the quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle and the implementation of the algorithms for its basic control. It also describes the realisation of the mechanical parts, choice of the propeller units and the implementation of the on-board power system. The development of the embedded control system was a subject of another master thesis. The main part of this thesis is aimed at the identification of machine parameters and a detailed analysis of the power units. The assemblage of the precise mathematical model of the machine is very important for the design of the effective regulators. The concept of the basic control and the results of the flight tests are also included.
