Semiactive automotive suspension with linear electrical motor
Author: Pavel Jícha
In this thesis possibility of use of linear electric motor in semiactive damping of car suspension is discussed.
The linear electric motor must allow continuous setting of the damping constant to use as semiactive damper. It can be done with appropriate control of the motor current which is also one goal of this thesis. The quarter car model is used to verify properties of semiactive damping system.
This model represents suspension of one wheel with quarter mass of the vehicle. There are four types of damping constant control algorithms. From these types the one with the best results in damping is chosen and the system with this control is compared with passive system.
