Identification and Control of Large-Scale Systems

This habilitation thesis describes the methods used for system identification and control of large-scale systems. These systems require special treatment with respect to their multipleinput, multiple-output nature. In system identification, special attention is paid to subspace identification methods. Subsequently, these models are used in Model-based Predictive Control, which enables efficient control of the modeled systems. This approach is shown in practice for tunnel ventilation control, as well as building heating control.
