android-obd-reader is an open source project that works with OBD2 Bluetooth devices (for example ELM327). My work will be adding a possibility to read trouble codes from car and display them. Every ECU (Engine Control Unit) monitors errors that occur while engine runs and these errors can be obtained using OBD2 device. These trouble codes could warn us about upcoming disaster before it actually happens. For example when using commercial product I can find error in our family car and get that fixed before it gets worse. In my case it was misfiring of three out of four engine cylinders that could have lead without repair to total destruction of the engine.
