User interface for design of frequency domain filters

This work describes a graphical user interface (GUI) for Matlab package. The GUI is used for comfortable design of frequency filters. Benefits of the GUI are the following. The GUI allows a user to easily change type and parameters of weighting filters. These filters are used for optimization of sensitivity transfer functions of a feedback system. The optimization is based on minimization of weighted H1 norms of these transfer functions. Parameters that are suitable in this case difer from specification commonly used in the field of signal processing. The designed GUI handles analytical expressions of transfer functions.

Thus the GUI makes the work of the user (control engineer designing the feedback system) much more comfortable. Usability of the GUI is demonstrated on an example of speed controller design for the tip point of a flexible link connected to a shaft of a DC motor.
